The "People of the World" collection of cream (and multi-colored) plastic figurines came from Van Brode Co. (Van Brode Milling Co.) of Clinton, Massachusetts, during the 1950s. [1, 2]
What they were: These small, roughly 2-inch hard plastic or celluloid miniature figures represented men, women, and dancers from various countries and cultures (such as Holland, Spain, Scotland, Mexico, China, and Egypt) dressed in traditional regional attire. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
How they were distributed: They were famously packed as cereal box prizes/premiums and were also included as small toys in military K-rations during the early 1950s. [1, 2, 3]
